Limestone

Limestone is a building stone with a light, neutral appearance, perfect for matching a variety of designs. Featuring subtle variations, this natural stone is a wonderful accent for buildings, particularly on brick structures. Due to its consistent appearance, it's a great option to start with on a space that may be expanded in the future. Plus, it's super durable, aging throughout the years to maintain its beautiful natural stone finish.

Sandstone

Another popular building stone is sandstone. Sandstone is commonly used in combination with silica cement, which is an ideal match for heavy structures. This material can be used in a range of projects, from use in dams and bridge peers to river walks and masonry work. Due to its composition consisting of quartz and feldspar, this stone can be found in a number of different colors, making it easy to match with any home design. This stone typically comes in white, gray, red, brown, yellow, or dark gray, so it’s a versatile option that will match every aesthetic.

Natural Stone Veneers

There are two versions of natural stone veneers - full bed depth veneer and thin veneer. As the two options suggest, one is thicker than the other, with a thin veneer usually ranging from 1 inch to 1.5 inches of a building stone that has been sawn off. In its thin state, a stone veneer can be placed on top of framed or block walls. This is due to its thin consistency, allowing for a lighter weight than a fully thick stone. This is a great, affordable option to cover an existing exterior with a thin coat of stone.
