Outcropping
Landscape outcropping refers to big pieces of rugged, flat stone used for retaining walls, accent pieces in flower beds, steps, and building multi-level landscapes. Pieces range from about 3-5 feet long, 3-4 feet deep, and 6-12 inches tall. Due to their weight and size, they require professional installation.

The installation process for outcropping stones involves several key steps. After site preparation and foundation creation, the stones are strategically placed and interlocked to ensure stability. Backfilling with soil or gravel provides additional support, and finishing touches like capstones are added.
While some may attempt a DIY installation, seeking professional assistance, especially for larger projects, is recommended to ensure a successful outcome. Proper installation not only enhances aesthetics but also ensures the long-term durability of the landscaping project.

Fantastic service and product. We live out of state and were unable to locate the product we were looking for locally. Chris at Stone Center worked with us over the phone, and via email to provide product photos and pricing. Extremely satisfied. I give my highest recommendation.

When you walk in the doors you are welcomed and feel valued. The environment is friendly and you can tell the owners truly care about their employees and customers. Hands down this small business, veteran owned stone center is the best in Columbus!

Stone center has such a beautiful selection of natural stones and custom limestone caps. Years ago I fell in love with their full color limestone treads and Jurassic wall-stone, and am back for more for another landscape project!

Spent a full day going to 4 stone yards in town to secure the best stone at the best price for a project I'm doing for a customer. I can say that Stone Center had the best stone, the best price AND the best service. We bought 18,000 lbs of stone from them and had it delivered.
Stone comes from quarries... you will find the same stone at various stone yards, like in most industries... we saw the exact same stone for double the price at a stone yard out east. We were in the yard for 30 minutes at another place and nobody ever approached us, and when we went inside they seemed annoyed to answer my questions. At yet another yard, without context, they said if my customer came to look at the stone they wouldn't tell her any of the prices.. that didn't sit well with me. I make money from my skills and labor, not by being a middle man and marking up retail prices..
At stone center they came out immediately to help us in the yard, were eager to assist and were knowledgeable about the product and pricing. They had the best pricing in town by far. We will be coming back here for all future stone projects!

Highly recommend Stone Center for quality and satisfaction. I particularly appreciate Jim Lestock’s helpfulness and reliable answers without coming across as pushy. When it comes to working with stone, Dave DeAloia is a true artist and craftsman. If you want the job done right, look no further.
